That doesn't sound right at all. I'd check more into that. Just don't use any chipset drivers and Windows 7 will take care of the rest.

Well, the answer from nvidia was clear: they won't fix it. Their solution: upgrade my computer. Windows Vista: Code 43 Error
Windows 7 still have this issue (tested it myself).

It's Nforce 3 250 Ultra with an AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600+ and HD3850 agp. The strange thing is the game worked previously well with the /3GB switch enabled, but now it won't. I thought it would be the sound card (creative xtremegamer x-fi) having problems, but even when disabling the sound the game still runs awful.

I remember when I had XP, enabling the 3GB switch caused me all sorts of stability problems. With SP3 installed, XP already set itself up to handle over 2 gigs (meaning a single app could use 2 gb all by itself where before the whole system was split using 2 gigs total though it will only show a little over 3). If you have SP3, the addition of manually doing the 3 GB switch is un-necessary and problematic.

I still say what I said before, sell your old system to grandma (or an aunt you don't like) (kidding) and get yourself more modernized. I had XP forever and for awhile didn't think I was ever going to change (skipped Vista entirely). I took the plunge and got Windows 7 (Professional) x64 and it turned out to be one of the best things I ever did (computer wise). There are just too many reasons to switch for me to list here (besides this game), you'll come to know them yourself whenever you have and use it. Gonna cost you a few, but in the end you will be extremely glad you did. (Also I figure you already know your sort of left out in the cold here on this mod as it was never designed to run on a 32 bit OS).

Getting the error in CM10.94 when I try launching any episode "MountAppFilesystem() failed: You don't have all GCFs needed to play this game".

Don't know why since I've been playing this mod a few days ago. Steam isn't open. Opening Steam does the same.
Did a fresh install of 10.90 and updated straight to 10.94. No luck. Did Valve screw something up again?

EDIT: nvm. 10.94 is broken. 10.90 works fine.

Doubt it.
---
In the 10.94 readme it says "CM needs at least the following gcf files in the SteamApps directory:"

Apparently I'm missing these GCFs:
Source FFCM Binaries.gcf (new with CM 10.92)
Base Source Shared Materials.gcf
Base Source Shared Models.gcf
Base Source Shared Sounds.gcf

Please, will someone upload them for me? :S

EDIT: Nevermind!! Turns out CM put 'Source FFCM Binaries' on my C drive, instead of D which I keep another Steam on. (C is low on free space). Lol :DD Thanks to anyone who would've helped me.

Oh my GOD!!!

Guys, take a look at this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MR85LvKNLBU&feature=player_embedded
It's from Dear Esther (http://www.moddb.com/mods/dear-esther)

Look at those clouds!!!

I think, if FAKEFACTORY contacts these guys, maybe they would share the "foliage code", so that he imtroduces foliage on CinematicMod!!!

Would be really really AMAZING!!!

Don't you think?

Imagine Episode 2, at the final battle, with this implemented?!!
would be WAY PAST COOL!!!

Great Mod! I am happy to report that CM 10.90 + Adult Pimper ver. 4 work well @ 5920 x 1080L Eyefinity resolution! Getting 70 - 120 fps at max details. ;D using an HIS 5870E6 (2GB) card, W7-64 + 4GB ram, AMD 1090T.
Have only played thru the Airboat level in HL2 so far but will report back later.
Thank You FF ;D

The foliage in the youtube video on that page is cool too, both the clouds and swaying foliage would be awesome! The extra processing required isn't a problem, as you could have an option in 'konfigurator' to disable the moving clouds and swaying foliage :)
