If Cinematic Mod is ported to Source SDK 2013, do we still need to keep these GCF files?

Do you think that can be done with only a few clicks? I'm sure there will be a version before that.

Anyone have a fix for those who converted HL2 files? I'm pretty much missing .gcf files that are needed for this mod.

You should backup the following files now:

half-life 2 content.gcf
half-life 2 episode one.gcf
half-life 2 episode two english.gcf
half-life 2 episode two low violende.gcf
episode two content.gcf
episode two maps.gcf
episode two materials.gcf
source 2007 binaries.gcf
source 2007 shared materials.gcf
sourcec 2007 shared models.gcf
sourcec 2007 shared sounds.gcf
episodic 2007 shared.gcf
source sounds.gcf
source materials.gcf
source models.gcf
episode 1 shared.gcf
half-life 2 2007 base content.gcf

and all language files (i.e. "half-life 2 german.gcf")

f*ck! My Steam just finished updating when I saw this. So now that my CM files are all fucked up should I uninstall them?

that is killing me...
all the re-re-re-re-re...editions are dead...killed by valve ....

and now all is extracted instead of in one file... most players should also think of buying a hard-drive ssd to replace their old one that will get killed very quickly if it has not been very regularly defragmented .

i joke about the twelve editions death , may be a torrent could save them . a pack having all gcfs and a new installer able to install correctly all files of the mod with the right config for the gcf folder .

for some having done the backup of gcf files, may be after the "steam update" you can put again the gcf in the steamapps folder and they will not be deleted ? so you can play

I am so LUCKY that i created an entire hard-drive backup before update.

If they make a new version plz... I run Half-Life 2 on Windows XP 32-bit. Cinematic Mod 10 Light Edition is awesome still.

Dont forget about us CM10 32-bit windows xp users plz.
